Food lovers are also in for a royal treat at this year’s Taste the Helderberg, now in its 8th year, where a delicious smorgasbord of sumptuous delights ranging from signature dishes to decadent sweets will perk the most jaded palates.
“Here in the Helderberg we enjoy life and it tastes delicious! This diverse sub-route of the Stellenbosch Wine Routes is certainly hip and happening and it is its sensory soul that we invite people to come and savour at Taste the Helderberg,” shares Elmarie Rabe, Manager of the Stellenbosch Wine Route.
“This social event combines some of my favourite forms of nurturing people into a festive celebration. Good, fuss-free food, excellent wines, a fun night on town in the company of amicable locals and great music. So don’t let the cold keep you away from this rare opportunity to indulge in this hub of Helderberg deliciousness, all under one roof,” advises Elmarie.
The Helderberg Winelands area stretches from Somerset West to Stellenbosch and Sir Lowry’s Pass Village, with some of the country’s most lauded cellars, restaurants and eateries adding their passions and pleasures to this booming area.
The local wine community offers a varied bouquet that ranges from time-honoured cellars to cutting-edge boutique wineries; famed family-owned estates to eco-conscious pioneers.
