Freedom Hill

Overview

At Freedom Hill the gifts of nature combined with the passion and skills of our winemakers create wines of distinctive character, abundant flavour, superb balance and stylish finesse.

Our first vines were planted in 1998, where today they thrive in our farm’s Oak leaf soils, ideally suited to the cultivation of top quality red grapes. During summer, the prevailing south-easterly wind creates superb, cool ripening conditions, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and reach optimum flavour. This terrior of our estate embraces our red grape cultivars. Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage are thus planted in the very sandy earth.

Only hand-selected red grapes from vineyards on the farm are used for the wines. To ensure that every wine reaches the peak of perfection, all the wines are matured for between 12 and 24 months in oak barrels. Our crispy white wines are carefully selected to assure the perfect quality and balance. A small production of ±6 000 cases per year ensures attention to detail.
