Sijnn

A beautiful pioneering wine estate in the middle of nowhere at the end of a long, dusty, bumpy road at the Southern tip of Africa. When David and Rita Trafford visited the Malgas region for the first time in 2000, they were blown away with the incredible soils specifically in the Lemoentuin area and immediately set about finding a suitable property to purchase.

Plaisir

The soaring peaks of the Simonsberg Mountain have long served as a guardian to the birth, renaissance and continuing triumph of our Paarl wine estate. It is on the rolling foothills of this majestic mountain that vineyards thrive, producing grapes of exceptional richness that would have found favour with our Huguenot founder, Charles Marais.

Vriesenhof

At Vriesenhof, the art of winemaking is a fascinating journey that begins in the vineyards and ends with the enjoyment that accompanies a raised glass. Follow this journey and you will most certainly pause for reflection in the solitude of the Vriesenhof cellars. Traditional wood maturation methods combine effortlessly with modern fermentation processes.

Vilafonte

Vilafonte will only ever produce two wines. In the formative years, Winemaking Partner Zelma Long noticed that our vineyard was producing two distinctive styles. Both styles were of the highest quality, not one of them better than the other, but distinctive nonetheless. One portion of the vineyard produced a soft, rounded, fleshy and fruit driven style. The other side of our vineyard produced a bolder, more powerful and structured style. It was this realisation that lead to the emergence of Series M and Series C.

Thandi

Established in Elgin in 1995, Thandi – a Xhosa word meaning ‘nurturing love’ – is a wine that niches on quality, spawned the Fairtrade trend, and uplifts and empowers previously disadvantaged communities. In 2003, Thandi became the first wine brand in the world to receive Fairtrade accreditation.
The name Thandi, is derived from the name of the daughter of one of the key role players in the community, Trevor Steyn, who was instrumental in bringing the Thandi dream to life.
