The original farm Wandsbeck dates back to the early 1800’s, but winemaking only started in 1965. The first families to live on this land were the Watermeyer’s & Erasmus’s. Apparently their ancestors came from Wandsbek in Germany, thus they named their farm Wandsbeck as a token of respect to their heritage.

Quando is a family business, with brothers Fanus and Martin Bruwer as sixth generation descendants of the Bruére family, who settled here from France in the mid 1700's. Langverwacht Cellar is situated in Bonnievale on the Stormsvlei road. The cellar was built to receive the first crop in 1956. The original name was Boesmansrivier Winecellar, but confusion with the name Boesmansrivier Cheese Factory lead to the name change. Langverwacht was the name of the farm on which the cellar was built.
