O N E I R I C pronounced Oh!-ne-rik “to dream”  is exactly that a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the cool-climate Elgin Valley. In recognition of the families many generations of mining stock, the Pascall’s decided to play on a Copper theme, with each varietal’s label playing on a different copper derivative; from Chalcopyrite/Fools Gold and Malachite to the rich blue of Azurite.  The labels are striking and stand out on any wine list.

Following on from the success of the more serious Oneiric Copper label, the Oh!  label was introduced.  A fun label playing on the first syllable of the word Oneiric; a lighter body compared with the same cultivates bigger Copper brother.  Michael Fridjon describes the Oh! as a superb wine, a wine with depth of talent and quality, the best value for money chardonnay in a flight tasted blind.  The Hong Kong CWSA held in March 2015 gave it a two thumbs up too awarding the Oh! with double gold. Only 20 South African wineries were awarded double gold in 2015, Oneiric walked away with two of them, one for the Oh! Chardonnay 2011 and the other for the Oneiric Copper Sauvignon Blanc 2012.

Still playing on a copper theme, Oneiric released the first vintage supreme collectors First Quantum range in 2015. These exclusive limited edition wines are a rarity (2000 bottles) that present a developed and complex nose with a diversity of aromas.  The finish is coherent with the nose, complex and long lasting. The Oneiric winery offers a tasting barn, gift shop, picnic areas, trout dams and views over the exquisite Kogelberg Biosphere, part of the UNESCO world heritage site and home to the greatest variety of plant species in the world.

The warmth of the welcome, the unique wines and the spectacular site on which the farm sits often leave guests speechless.  Well worth a visit.
