Like the original steps of Saxenburg's homestead, which for generations welcomed old friends and new, Saxenburg invites you to share with us the history and heritage of our fine farm since 1693.  The farm history is a rich tapestry dating back to 1693 when Governor Simon Van Der Stel granted the land to a free burger from Germany, Joachim Sax. Adrian and Birgit Buhrer bought the farm in 1989 and together with the Winemaker, Nico van der Merwe they successfully steered Saxenburg to the top with Quality Wines, gaining both national and international accolades. We boast to be the first farm with a game park, where Zebra, Springbok and fellow Deer as well as Blue-wilde beest roam free. We have a newly renovated Restaurant just opened - The Cattle Baron Grill room, first of it's kind!  The views of Table Mountain, False Bay and the Cape Town Harbor is just breathtaking. The Menu comprised of legendary signature dishes such as our flambéed Chateaubriand; robust Pepper Fillet Madagascar; juicy Spare Ribs; tantalizing T-Bones as well as an array of superb seafood; chicken and even vegetarian dishes.
