In 2007, father and son Bill and Nick Spotswood, the former retired from an international confectionery business and the latter a civil engineer from Polokwane, bought a Blaauwklippen Road property in Stellenbosch’s ’Golden Triangle’ They inherited a young vineyard with Chardonnay, Shiraz, Viognier, and a rare-South -Africa red wine varietal, Durif. The first bottling of this unique grape was in 2011.
