I was fortunate to grow up in the beautiful valley of Stellenboschkloof, wedged between Bottelary and Polkadraai Hills.

After a few years working alongside my father in the vineyards and cellar, I decided to start my own business. The neighbouring farm Canettevallei that lies adjacent to the Ou Kaapse Hardepad, became home to my family and boutique winery called Super Single Vineyards (SSV).

During my early years as a young winemaker, I learned from great mentors in St Emilion and Tuscany, the simple truth that a great vineyard makes a great wine. From that moment, my search for the best possible vineyards will never be complete – hence our name ‘Super Single Vineyards’.

Stellenbosch is the best area for the classic Bordeaux grape varieties that we use predominantly in PELLA, our Coastal range.

In 2004, we planted the first vineyard near the town of Sutherland in the Highland Karoo area, at an altitude of 1500m. We use these grapes for our Mount Sutherland range.
