Situated in the Stellenbosch winelands, Uitkyk is an upmarket estate producing multiple award winning wines and bubbly by winemaker Estelle Lourens. The name of Uitkyk “look out” given to the estate is most appropriate. Uitkyk is a Biodiversity & Wine Initiative champion (BWI), being one of the first in the winelands to appreciate the value of owls in rodent control and launching a project to increase the owl population on the farm by creating sustainable habitats.

Situated on the southwestern slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain, it looks out to Table Mountain in the distance. It is a splendid setting for the striking and magnificent homestead on the property. The 18th century Georgian neo-classical double-story house completed in 1788, is one of only three such houses left in the country.
