The passion and skill of 3 cellar masters over 3 decades has resulted in an iconic South African wine.

The year was 1994 - and with a savagely hot summer the sugar in the grapes rose faster than we could harvest and the Cap Classique we had planned was looking unlikely. However, our founder, Achim von Arnim, vinified the grapes anyway to see what became of them - and it was magic. South Africa's first Chardonnay Pinot Noir was forged out of skill and ingenuity in the face of a challenge, and became a smashing success with critics and wine lovers alike. We are extremely proud to have been the first to create it in South Africa, and share it with all of you.
