Klein Parys Vineyards: Where Over 300 Years of History Meet Award-Winning Wines

Few wine estates in South Africa can say they've been part of the country's story for more than three centuries. Klein Parys Vineyards, nestled beneath the majestic Paarl Mountains along the banks of the Berg River, is one of those rare places where history, family tradition and exceptional winemaking come together.

Established in 1692, Klein Parys isn't simply a wine farm, it's a living piece of South African heritage. Today, visitors are welcomed to experience award-winning wines, delicious country cuisine and warm Cape hospitality in one of the Cape Winelands' most historic settings.

Whether you're planning a wine tasting, a leisurely lunch or a weekend escape to Paarl, Klein Parys is a destination you'll want to return to again and again.

A Legacy Dating Back to 1692

The story of Klein Parys began when Governor Willem Adriaan van der Stel granted the land to the Le Roux family, French Huguenots who brought centuries of European winemaking tradition with them to the Cape.

More than 330 years later, the estate remains remarkably true to its roots. Its 56 hectares of vineyards stretch alongside the Berg River in a landscape that has changed little over the centuries.

A new chapter began in 2002, when acclaimed winemaker Kosie Möller and his family purchased the estate. Their vision was clear: restore Klein Parys to its rightful place among South Africa's great wine estates while honouring the history that makes it so special.

Today, that vision is evident in every bottle produced on the estate.

Crafted by One of South Africa's Most Awarded Winemakers

Behind every exceptional wine is an exceptional winemaker.

Kosie Möller has built an extraordinary reputation over the past three decades and is regarded as one of South Africa's most accomplished winemakers. Since 1994, his wines have earned prestigious international accolades, including:

Baron Philippe de Rothschild Trophy for Best Merlot at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.

Best Cabernet Sauvignon in the World in Canada.

Best Chardonnay in Paris.

His philosophy combines respect for tradition with modern winemaking techniques, resulting in wines that beautifully express the unique terroir of Paarl.

Today, Klein Parys wines are enjoyed both locally and internationally, with exports reaching wine lovers around the world.

Wines That Tell a Family Story

Klein Parys offers an impressive range of wines, but the true stars of the collection are the estate's premium Family Collection.

Featuring three distinctive wines: Jacob, Niclas and Beatrix, each bottle is named after members of the Möller family and represents the very best Klein Parys has to offer.

Their fitting motto says it all:

"Three names. Three centuries. One obsession."

The estate also produces its elegant White Estate Collection, Red Estate Collection and the highly regarded Kleine Parys 2025 Chenin Blanc, one of their flagship white wines that perfectly showcases the freshness and versatility of South African Chenin Blanc.
